We already discussed flash evaporation for an immediate cooling effect without getting wet. To achieve it, you need a fan with a misting function, small nozzles, and a higher water pressure. What else to consider when buying a misting fan?

Water Supply – a Hose or a Container?

Concerning the water source – there are two major types of misting fans. Some operate attached to a garden hose, while others have a container that has to be filled with water.

Using a misting fan supplied with water through a hose connection is a relief as you don’t have to calculate how long the water in the container will last. But this solution is working for misting fans that are usually fixed in a desired place.

If you need to be flexible and often change the placement of the misting fan – you’d better take one with a tank. The water containers may also be of different sizes. Some may provide you with a cooling breeze for 10 hours.

Nozzle-based or Centrifugal Mist?

As we already explained in the text above – the efficient misting fans produce a mist of very small water droplets that immediately evaporate in the hot air and produce a cooling breeze.
