The Geek Aire Misting Fan is my lifesaver on hot summer days when I am relaxing on the patio reading a book or chatting with a friend. My husband loves it at the barbecue. I choose it because of its size – it’s small, compact and lightweight, so it’s really portable. I can easily attach it to various objects and can use it anywhere, even though it’s not a stand fan.
Another thing I like about the Geek Aire Outdoor Misting Fan is that it is battery powered. I do not have to be near an outlet to feel the cool breeze coming from the water jets. I just need a fully charged battery and another one that I can swap out if needed.
The portable fan is powerful and produces an airflow of 1500 CFM. With its 3 nozzles, it sprays refreshing cool mist up to a height of 11.5 feet. You can swivel the fan to adjust the range of the mist and distance, 360º up and down.
And finally, the hose option for the water supply is convenient. It means I have the cooling mist all the time and do not have to refill a tank or calculate when exactly I need to do that. It’s frustrating when I am reading a book, putting it down, and getting up to refill the tank with fresh water.
So based on my personal experience with the Geek Aire Battery-Powered Misting Fan, I can attest that it cools me down in a variety of scenarios—on the patio, in the backyard, by the pool, or at a barbecue. My friends and kids also like it when we are having fun outdoors.

Geek Aire Battery-operated Misting Fan Design
What I like most about the Geek Aire battery-powered misting fan design is its small size and lightweight, which makes it portable. The 12″ fan is compact, measuring 16.1″x 8.1″ x 16.1″ and weighing 7.1 lbs.
It is made of strong ABS with a thickened coating. There is only one color option – black, combined with yellow on the stand.
The yellow stand is made of metal. There are black silicone anti-slip feet to ensure stability while the 360-degree rotation.
Cooling Power via Water Evaporation
The Geek Aire 12″ battery-powered fog fan is powerful and produces 1500 CFM of airflow. It can be used as a normal fan—without misting—or as a mister fan. The misting option efficiently refreshes when the air is very dry.
Water, supplied through a hose, is sprayed through 3 nozzles, spraying refreshing cool mist up to a height of 11.5 feet. The tiny water droplets evaporate instantly. The process of evaporation requires energy – which is derived from the heat in the air. So that’s the magic of cooling with a mist blower.
There are 3 nozzles on the fan, and there is an additional nozzle that can be replaced, if necessary, which is sewn to the instructions in a small package. If the water is hard, it is better to use a filter or clean the nozzles to prevent clogging.
The misting pipe attachment is easy. Just insert the detachable pipe into the water inlet and attach the blue ring. Turn the valves and this is it! If you want to detach it, remove the blue ring and press the colored part shown in the image above. Then drag the pipe out without too much force.
Speed Control
The speed level can be set through a radio button. You can increase and decrease the airflow strength by turning the button – left or right.
Mounting Options
The Geek Aire 12″ battery powered fog fan is small and light enough to be easily lifted and carried to various locations. All you need is a surface on which to place it – on the floor, on a table.
But it can also be attached to a railing on the terrace or porch or any other suitable structure, as you can see in the pictures below.
Battery Life, Charging and Replacement
One of the things I really like about the 12″ Geek Aire Mister Fan is that the battery is replaceable. I usually charge 3 batteries and have them ready to replace when the time comes.
The battery life is between 3 and 23 hours depending on the speed and mist option selected, and in my experience, it is usually around 3 hours. If I am reading a book or chatting with loved ones, that’s quite enough and I can recharge the battery, but as I mentioned earlier, I prefer to keep another fully charged battery on hand for replacement.
The spare battery is really handy for all outdoor activities – camping, picnics with the beloved ones, beach time, barbecues, etc.
The charging time is 2-3 hours. There is a cap in the charging port. It has to be removed before plugging the cable and to be set on after that to prevent wetting:
Battery Life | 3 – 23 hours |
Battery Charging | 2-3 hours |
Battery Replacement | Yes |
Safety Usage
The Geek Aire Battery Operated Misting Fan is waterproof (IPX4), rustproof, UV-resistant and functions at 24v DC, much lower than the household voltage, for safety reasons.
Verdict
I love the Geek Aire Battery Operated Misting Fan. The fact that it is compact and light and therefore portable – is one of its advantages. I recommend it for the cooling power (1500 CFM up to 11,5 ft) through water evaporation.
It significantly reduces the air temperature and is suitable for any outdoor activities – patio, gardening, camping, beach time, and more. Another important advantage is the option to replace the rechargeable battery with a fully charged one, so it can be used continuously for a longer time without interruption for charging.
